A Couple Verses on Being Content

Isaiah 49:4 (NIV)
But I said, “I have labored in vain;
I have spent my strength for nothing at all.
Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand,
and my reward is with my God.”

Romans 14:8 (NIV)
If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

These are some serious verses on being content in Christ.

What are some ways we can increase our capacity to be content in God?

I have no idea how these verse helps but for some reason it worked for me so it might work for you.

Job 1:21 KJV & KJV1611
“And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”

“And said, Naked came I out of my mothers wombe, and naked shall I returne thither: the Lord gaue, and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord. ”

Maybe this set of verses works better. Actually read the entire chapter but these verses kinda work.

I Tim 6:6-7 KJV & KJV1611&NIV
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. ”

“But godlinesse with contentment is great gaine. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certaine we can cary nothing out. ”

Eh, why not, here’s the Vulgate version:
“16)est autem quaestus magnus pietas cum sufficientia 17) nihil enim intulimus in mundum haut dubium quia nec auferre quid possumus”

The NIV version got lost but here:
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.”

Lovely verses that will probably break some people’s minds ;)
