I am afraid

I don’t know why, but I’m afraid.

I’m afraid of responsibility.

I’m afraid of leading people.

I’m afraid of being outwardly passionate.

I’m afraid of accepting the authority given to me.

I’m afraid of stepping up my game.

I’m afraid of my life being out of balance.

I’m afraid.

I’m paralyzed.

2 Corinthians 11:30 (NIV)
30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:10 (NIV)
10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 13:4 (NIV)
4 For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him to serve you.

But I will learn to walk again by God’s power . . .

Thanks for sharing those verses! I will keep those close-by as a reminder . . .

Don’t be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you; I will support you with my right hand that saves you. ~ Isaiah 41:10

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. ~ Psalm 34:4

When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. ~ Psalm 61:2

God knows what each of us is dealing with. He knows our pressures. He knows our conflicts. And, He has made a provision for each and every one of them. That provision is Himself in the person of the Holy Spirit, dwelling in us and empowering us to respond rightly.

1 Timothy 4:12-15 (The Message)

11-14 Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use.

15-16 Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don’t be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation.
